Lukas is a co-founder at Sonic and specializes in product strategy and product management. He leads the work streams at Milano Vice and Junto, where he oversees all engineering work and coordinates these large-scale software products with our internal Sonic team as well as with our Partner's main stakeholders. He is also in charge of our first internal product, the Sonic Lightning platform.
Before fully diving into the startup world, Lukas completed his Bachelor’s degree at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. Afterwards, he launched his product career with contributions at Gorillas, where he took responsibility for a variety of internal, and customer-facing product work streams. Along the way, he co-founded Permastream, a SaaS company for online streaming.
Lukas is located in Berlin since June and loves sports (whether it is lifting, running, or soccer). Besides work, he is a super fan of "The Huberman Lab" Podcast and enjoys reading a lot. His favorite book is "The Hard Thing About Hard Things" by Ben Horowitz.
Johann is a Frontend Engineer at Sonic and specializes in outstanding web frontend development. He shares a deep excitement for truly great user experiences with Eyk and Aron and is part of the internal Sonic initiatives that move excellent frontend engineering quality forward.
Before Sonic, Johann was a lead frontend engineer at Workwise where he helped the company grow from 40 to more than 150 employees. However, his passion for UX & Products goes beyond software, which is why Johann and Aron founded JF.kitchen - a high-quality, minimalist tableware brand with the best-rated cloth napkins in Germany.
Personally, Johann loves to play the guitar and sing and is seen busking on the streets. He is also a big fan of Italian cuisine, wishing to cook as well as Luciano Monosilio one day.
Daniela is a Product Manager at Sonic and specializes in discovering, scoping and managing large-scale digital products. She is currently leading the product efforts in our work with baupal, one of the most complex products we are building.
Daniela started her career in process optimization at Lidl Hong Kong, after which she moved on to launch her product career with responsibilities at Bynder in Amsterdam and Gorillas in Berlin. She also joined the product efforts at Sameday Health, working alongside Johannes for the main digital communications service of the company.
With the ambition to shape education and the societal future for the better, Daniela co-founded the non-profit "GemeinsamEinzigartig", which connects role models from different fields with school classes. Personally, Daniela enjoys listening to podcasts, such as "Fast & Curious", "The Scale Lab" and "QuickCoffee", while going for walks around Amsterdam and going to early morning yoga classes.
Patrick is a co-founder of Sonic and leads our product strategy and product management practice. He has extensive experience in product strategy, product management and recruitment. Most recently, Patrick was the Head of Product at Gorillas, a 10-minute grocery delivery service from Berlin. At Gorillas, he was part of scaling the product and engineering organization from 2 to 130 people in 1.5 years and co-led all product and engineering efforts at the global scaleup. Additionally, he is an active angel investor in startups across Europe that focus on building outstanding product experiences.
Patrick specializes in profoundly understanding what an ever-changing, global base of digital customers needs, what strategies must be in place to deliver on them, and how digital product organizations can be built at a rapid pace and with excellent people.
Personally, Patrick is based in Amsterdam and loves different sports, such as CrossFit, triathlon and sports climbing. Patrick is an avid reader and listener to podcasts, with his favorite being the book "The Goal" by Eliyahu M. Goldratt and the podcast “Chasing Excellence” by Ben Bergeron.
Magnus is a co-founder at Sonic and co-leads our engineering work streams. He specializes in large-scale technology systems and infrastructure, as well as building high-performing engineering organizations.
Most recently, Magnus was the Head of Backend at Gorillas, a 10-minute grocery delivery service from Berlin. At Gorillas, he was part of scaling the product and engineering organization from 2 to 130 people in 1.5 years and co-led infrastructure and engineering efforts at the global scaleup. Magnus focuses on deeply understanding the technological needs of startups, scaleups and larger business units and defines, as well as recruits the organizations that are required to build outstanding technological products.
Personally, Magnus has a passion for the newest range of technological products and gadgets and is an avid cyclist.
Selina is a Product Manager at Sonic. She specializes in user research and customer-centric product management, in which she has extensive experience. Selina started her career in product by leading the user research efforts at Mapify, a global traveler community platform with more than a quarter million users.
Having ensured highest product quality, usability and experience, she continued her work in product at Sameday Health, where she was solely product managing as well as designing the core consumer booking product for the company and overviewed the booking flow, which processed millions of healthcare product bookings.
Selina is currently completing her master's studies at Technical University Berlin and Tel Aviv Coller School of Management. Personally, she enjoys doing yoga and running, or she expands the collection of self-potted tableware and vases. Her favorite book is "daring greatly "by Brené Brown.
Sebastian is a co-founder at Sonic at co-leads our engineering work streams. He specializes in the conceptualization, design and execution of complex, large-scale software products, primarily through scalable backend technology. Sebastian is also responsible for the Sonic engineering recruitment practice and contributes to various internal recruiting processes with our Partners.
Sebastian kickstarted his engineering career at Mapify through the buildup of the backend architecture behind the mobile apps that quickly became widely used. At Sameday Health, Sebastian co-led the development of the core booking flow product, which became the backbone of the rapidly expanding US-based company and processed millions of bookings as well as their associated payments.
Personally, Sebastian enjoys spending time outdoors with his dog "Monti" and likes sports such as climbing, swimming and surfing.
David is a co-founder at Sonic at co-leads our engineering work streams. He specializes in end-to-end software engineering, with a focus on iOS applications as well as backend engineering. David started out as an iOS engineer developing games and was quickly recognized by Apple to become a WWDC scholar. Since then, he has developed his engineering skill set in various areas.
Among David's largest engineering projects is co-leading the Sameday Health booking flow project and building the Mapify iOS application. At Sameday, he took ownership of the booking flow technology, which processed millions of healthcare product bookings. At Mapify, his contributions on the iOS side had the app featured by Apple multiple times on the global App Store.
Personally, David is an avid traveler and often consulted as the expert frequent flyer on the Sonic team. He spends his free time playing chess, learning about finance and joining Patrick for gym sessions whenever the team is in the same city.
Aron is a Frontend Engineer at Sonic and specializes in outstanding web frontend development. He shares a deep excitement for truly great user experiences with Eyk and Johann and is part of the internal Sonic initiatives that move excellent frontend engineering quality forward.
Before Sonic, Aron launched his frontend engineering career at Workwise and became the Co-Founder of JF.kitchen, a modern and minimalistic kitchen- and tableware label which has grown to feature German-wide Amazon top sellers (Yes, check it out for your next family or friends dinner!). Previously having studied Finance, Aron eventually discovered his passion for code and technology and became an exceptional self-taught engineer.
In his life outside of Sonic, Aron plays tennis and loves to travel.
Eyk is a full-stack engineer at Sonic and focuses on the end-to-end implementation of web-based digital products. He shares a deep excitement for truly great user experiences with Johann and Aron and is part of the internal Sonic initiatives that move excellent frontend engineering quality forward.
Before joining Sonic, Eyk was a dual student at Deutsche Telekom and spent time working for Workwise, a recruitment marketplace. Eyk is a self-taught software engineer and has spent countless days and nights working on side projects that have enabled him to get where he is today.
Among his favorite books are "Build" by Tony Fadell and "Hooked" by Nir Eyal. He loves listening to the "Doppelgänger Tech Talk" podcast as well as watching the HBO show "Silicon Valley".
Johannes focuses on backend engineering at Sonic, contributing to our projects with Junto and Milano Vice.
Previous to those, he owned the outbound notifications systems at Sameday Health, where his work contributed to the stability and design of thousands of daily end-customer messages.
Johannes is completing his bachelor's degree in Software Engineering at Code University Berlin.
